The TaoTronics 2K 30FPS Dash Camera is a budget dash cam that removes all the extraneous feature you don’t need and just includes the stuff you really care about. 2K mode, HDR, taking photos etc and that’s it mostly. Very simple there are also tangible and very appealing looking buttons located under the screen with clear commands like record and up and down. This really adds to the experience and usability as some companies just leave small buttons on the side of their products and it doesn’t work. This product does not have a webcam mode which is a bit disappointing all you get is USB storage mode when you plug it into your pc. The micro sd card this product comes with is not only surprising but a huge selling feature. It’s not every day a budget dash camera comes with a Samsung EVO 32gb micro sd card. This is a top of the line micro sd card coming in a budget item. I’m very excited that this happened as I’m probably going to use this for my phone. The product works very nicely and viewing your footage is also quite easy thanks to the auto-erase feature which removes the oldest footage that it presumes you no longer need. For some reason the product chops my footage into 1-minute intervals I gotta find a way to fix that.
The microphone used by the product is not the best but it’s clear enough to distinguish voices but by no means gets any awards for fidelity. The visual quality is passible and you will definitely be able to see what’s being recorded however this thing truly shines on the 2k or HDR modes and this addresses my concerns. You can also adjust the sharpness of your video and photos if necessary. Well, the consequences of being cheap in most cases do come back but in this case, you would be hard-pressed to find any compromises it’s a nice dash camera
